Sunrise at Sharjah Corniche

I took these pictures this morning. The sky was filled with clouds. As the sun climbed, the clouds turned from grey to fiery red before changing to white.


There were a lot of sea gulls flying around, but only came in front of the camera.

Fish - eye view of the Sharjah Corniche

I attached an old semi fish eye lens on my digital compact camera, seems to work.

Here I added a couple of old filters with the semi fish eye lens.

Cannon, Rolla Square, Sharjah

The building in the background was demolished near Rolla Square. No, the cannon was not used in demolition process.

Heritage area, Sharjah

The old Sharjah area, is being rebuilt, as the Heritage area. The buildings are built in the way it was built for centuries, using coral and mortar.

Coral walls and the wind towers, kept the buildings cool in the harsh climate of the region.

Dangerous Jobs

This building is on the Sharjah Cornish. Workers clean the spherical portion by hanging from the structures that moves around while they clean. Not a job for the faint hearted.

Sharjah King Faizal Street at night

King Faizal Street is usually clogged. But when the traffic does move, it is just streaks of light.
